Jo & Nick’s Wedding at St Stephen’s Pamphill and Deans Court

Jo and Nick’s wedding took place in and around Wimborne with a church ceremony at St Stephen’s in Pamphill followed by a reception at Deans Court.

We met up with both the Groom and Bridal Party in Wimborne as Nick was staying at The Gate House on the Deans Court estate. Jo, her Mum and Bridesmaids had their hair and make-up done by the Clarins ladies just around the corner from here at The Beauty Centre.

The Bridal Party did a spot of wedding prepping in the morning after an impromptu photo session with some Vikings setting up camp in the grounds of Wimborne Minster. Then it was time for Brunch before getting dressed for the ceremony.

Morning nerves on the Bride’s side were well and truly settled just before leaving when a panicked call from the Groom revealed he was stuck at The Gate House after thinking the Bridal Car was also coming to pick him up! Luckily, everything was so close this was more funny than it was a planning hiccup and it only meant hanging fire for a few minutes whilst the Groom got to the front of the church.

The afternoon reception took place at Deans Court.… Read Full Post

Abi & Andy’s Wedding at Deans Court

Abi and Andy’s day took place in the grounds of Deans Court and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for a still and warm Summer’s Day.

Opting for the excellent Celebrant, Diana Saxby to conduct the ceremony meant the wedding could take place outdoors with guests facing the lake.

Abi got ready just a stone’s throw away at Deans Court’s own Georgian , 7-bedroom Gate House. It was a real treat to be able to explore this place in the morning, having eyed it up several times at other weddings and whilst pottering around the Squash Court – it’s a wonderful place.

The wedding breakfast and evening took place in the marquee kitted up with lovely rustic details, polished off by a superb ‘Naked Cake’ from Miss Ingredient and classic, pretty flowers from Jen Poynter.

We’d got a little insight into the decor of the wedding ahead of the day as Ian also designed Abi and Andy’s on-the-day Swash and Fold stationery.

Here are some photos from their day…

Jo and Nick’s Wedding Prep Shoot at Kingston Lacy

Jo and Nick are getting married next month at St Stephen’s Church in Pamphill followed by a reception at Deans Court in Wimborne..

They came down to Dorset for the weekend to visit and we met up on a sunny Sunday afternoon. They had the great idea of meeting up at Kingston Lacy. Previously, we’d only chatted via Skype so it was nice to meet face to face and go for a wander around the grounds together.

Abi and Andy’s Wedding Prep Shoot at Deans Court

We met up with Abi and Andy at Deans Court recently to talk through the details of their wedding, taking place there in August. We then went for a little stroll around the grounds and took some photos as we went.

We already knew a little bit about the day as Ian has been working with them both designing their wedding stationery over at Swash and Fold. He’s done a nice write-up about their invites, here.

Claire & Simon’s Wedding at Wimborne Minster and Deans Court

Claire and Simon went for a French take on their wedding with plenty of rustic details, a Tour de France table plan, a pretty little bike and delicious crepes for their evening food.

There really was no need to go over to Provence for their day.. the weather in Wimborne was blinding and with the musical accompaniment of the excellent Jonny Hepdir you could easily convince yourself you were in Southern France.

Most of the day took place at Deans Court, apart from a church ceremony at Wimborne Minster.

As well as a seamlessly flowing reception service at Deans Court from Jonathan and his team, Claire and her bridal party got ready at the Apple and Plum cottages on site. Meanwhile, Simon and his groomsmen had some morning refreshments at the Squash Court, conveniently a short stroll away from the Minster.

Nikki and Greg’s Wedding at Wimborne Minster and Parley Manor

Nikki and Greg’s Wedding took place between Wimborne and Christchurch – a classic affair with a traditional church ceremony in Wimborne Minster followed by a marquee reception at Parley Manor.

Cleverly tying in their wedding with the start of Peony Season, their wedding was awash with sweet smelling flowers courtesy of Jennifer Poynter Flowers. Even their cake made by the talented Miss Ingredient was adorned with sugar peonies and roses (there’s a great post on the making of this cake, here).

The weather report was pretty atrocious, though miraculously, although ‘Heavy Rain’ and rain was predicted all day, it only really got very wet once all the wedding party were tucked up inside and enjoying a boogie in the marquee to the tunes of The Goodfoot Band.

Claire and Simon’s Wedding Prep Shoot in Pamphill

Claire and Simon are getting married in a couple of weeks with a wedding ceremony at Wimborne Minster followed by a marquee reception at Deans Court, just a little walk away from the church.

They had the great idea of tying in their wedding prep with a visit to Abbott Street Copse to see the spring bluebells. This is just a little drive away near Pamphill.

We had a lovely evening walking around the woods, climbing under trees and being as careful as we could not to tread on any pretty flowers. There were quite a few people in the woods with the same idea, but towards the end of the shoot we really only shared the area with a colony of rabbits – frolicking about and enjoying the evening sun…

Nikki and Greg’s Wedding Prep Shoot in Wimborne

We met up with Nikki and Greg at the weekend to talk through their wedding plans and take some woodland photos.

They’re getting married soon in Dorset with a wedding ceremony being held at Wimborne Minster and a party at Parley Manor.

The weather was a bit dodgy for the preps with near Gale Force winds whipping up for the first day of Summer, but the spot we found at Cannon Hill Plantation wasn’t too bad. Lots of boggy, muddy paths meant we all had to kit ourselves up with wellies and we climbed up some steep paths but the view from the top was lovely.

Katie and Andrew’s Wedding: Day One – Kingston Lacy

Katie and Andrew recently had a 4-day wedding celebration spanning two countries, numerous venues and settings and a blue sky to compliment each and every day.

Before heading out to the South of France for their wedding in Provence, a church ceremony took place nearer home in the pretty church of St Stephen’s on the Kingston Lacy estate. This was a small and intimate wedding which was held on a Monday morning in the presence of close family.

After the service, Katie’s Mum worked some magic getting us permission to take some time away from the wedding party for some shots in the grounds of Kingston Lacy. Meanwhile, Andrew’s parents played host to a marvellous garden party reception before the bride and groom headed off to the Continent that very evening.

Here are some photos from their UK wedding. Jump on to Part Two to see their Rehearsal Dinner in France.

Katie and Andrew’s Wedding Prep Shoot at Kingston Lacy

We’re in for quite an adventure with Katie and Andrew. In a couple of weeks we’ll be joining them on a whirlwind wedding tour, spanning numerous venues and two countries. One things for sure, there will be plenty of sunshine, lavender and prettiness.

After a relaxed and intimate family ceremony in Wimborne, Dorset we’ll be jetting off to France to join Katie, Andrew and their family and friends for a Provençal weekend at the beautiful Chateau Talaud in Loriol-du-Comtat near Avignon.

For a bit of practice shooting in blazing hot, midday sunshine, we met up with Katie and Andrew this week at one of their favourite spots – Kingston Lacy for their prep shoot. Armed with sun hats, plenty of sun cream, champagne and lavender, we went for a walk around the estate. Here are some photos from our afternoon out…
