Sophie & Paul’s Wedding at St Stephen’s, Pamphill and Dean’s Court

Sophie and Paul’s wedding took place in Wimborne on a changeable Spring day.

Their ceremony was held at St Stephen’s Church in Pamphill followed by a reception at Deans Court.

Although for the most part the day was warm and sunny there was a constant threat of a Thunderstorm and there were a few downpours and as the reception went on, some dramatic rumbles. It was quite fitting really as Sophie’s Parents also got married during a dramatic lightning storm at the same church.

Robyn & Josh’s Wedding at Sopley Mill

On a sunny Monday, jammily sandwiched between wet and dreary Spring days Robyn and Josh had their wedding day at Sopley Mill near Christchurch.

We joined them for one of our Short & Sweet days, starting with morning preps at Sopley Mill where Robyn and her Bridal Party multi-tasked decorating the venue before getting themselves ready. Meanwhile, Ian headed over to the Fisherman’s Haunt pub to meet Josh before the civil ceremony at the Mill.

After the ceremony we had some time to take a few group shots before wandering around the grounds with the Bride and Groom before their wedding breakfast.

Poonam & Alastair’s Wedding at Chaffeymoor Grange

We headed over to Chaffeymoor Grange recently to join Poonam and Alastair for one of our Short & Sweet days – taking in everything from getting ready to their meal sit down.

They and some of their close family and friends had full run of the house, staying over for a few days with the Oak Room transformed for their ceremony and wedding breakfast with gold shimmering voiles and floral decorations put together by Alastair’s mum.

Poonam was dressed in a beautiful coral and mint Sari which, as well as being extremely heavy, took a bit of expertise to get in to (especially keeping the headdress up!).

Sadly, although we arrived under blue skies, the rain swept in shortly after the ceremony meaning we weren’t able to make too much use of Chaffeymoor’s beautiful gardens. But we did manage to get out in short bursts when the rain eased for photos and for Poonam and Alastair to exchange garlands (which they weren’t allowed to do during the ceremony).

After the drinks reception we left the Bride and Groom to enjoy their day after all the guests sat down for their wedding breakfast.

Jen & Daim’s Wedding at The Kings Arms Hotel, Christchurch

It’s been quite a few years since we headed over to Christchurch for a wedding at The Kings Arms hotel and things have changed quite considerably.

Ceremonies are now held at the pretty Cricket Pavilion opposite the hotel and weather permitting, drinks can be enjoyed on the pitch outside.

Jen & Daim got married here and were able to enjoy a relaxed day with family and friends. The weather was nice enough to dish out the boozy lollies and savour canapés outside.

Jen got ready at the hotel with a room overlooking the Pavilion so she could spot Daim the Groom and guests arriving.

We made the most of the ruins over the road from the hotel for a shoot a little later in the day climbing the castle to capture some lovely late spring light.

The evening and wedding breakfast was held in the Kings Priory next to the hotel where folks enjoyed a playlist boogie and drinks into the evening.

Emma & Ben’s Wedding at The Master Builders

Emma and Ben’s wedding was held at The Master Builders at the weekend. It was a double ceremony bonanza. All hopes were placed on the main ceremony, conducted by their friend, being held outside. Immediately after this, the marriage was made legal by visiting Registrars and a second, smaller ceremony held inside the venue.

Despite quite a downpour near where Emma was getting ready in the morning, the weather luckily held off over Buckler’s Hard and Plan A was put into place!

Whilst the second ceremony took place many of of the guests enjoyed a drinks reception outside, shortly followed by the Bride and Groom.

Being keen skiers there was a bit of a summer alpine theme to the day with sledges propping up flower pots and old skis making up the frame for the seating plan. Guests were also treated to hot chocolate and cake early on in the day, with speeches held in the early evening.

Dinner was served in a large marquee and we were impressed with how much space there was, previously only ever attending weddings there held inside.

For the evening reception guests gathered back indoors and danced the night away to the tunes of Atlantica.… Read Full Post

Ross & Nicola’s Church & Barn Wedding at Barford Park, Salisbury

Settle down with a cup of tea and a slice of cake ready to look through the photos from Ross & Nicola’s wedding day last week. It’s a biggy (so you’ll be pleased of some refreshments) but there’s a point in this post where you’ll definitely be drooling after cake.

The day was action-packed, taking in three beautiful venues and a whole host of wonderful, thoughtful details. We knew there would be plenty in store and we had a sneak preview of what was planned as Ian helped design the wedding stationery with his Swash and Fold hat on, including invites from the day (for which I cut out (what felt like) a million records on a rotary cutter… but that’s another story, which you can read about, here).

We were lucky enough to start our 12-hour day at The Pig in Brockenhurst. This is one of our favourite places and it always has such a beautiful atmosphere and we can’t think of a better place to start a wedding day. We know we’re due to shoot more bridal preps later in the year at The Pig on The Beach in Studland but if anyone’s thinking of having a wedding here… you know… here’s the Contact Us page 😉

It was lovely to work alongside the very talented ladies, Caroline and Elke from Amazing Face, who did a superb job on hair and Nicola’s make-up.… Read Full Post

Georgia & Toby’s Wedding at Barford Park

Georgia and Toby got married at the weekend at Barford Park near Salisbury in Wiltshire. It was our first visit to this venue and we took in the ceremony and drinks reception for one of our Short & Sweet days.

The barn is an excellent choice for those keen on a DIY wedding with plenty of scope for decoration and really making the place your own.

We began our day by meeting both the Bride and Groom ahead of travelling to the barn. Georgia got ready with her bridesmaids and parents in Lymington while Toby met up with his Groomsmen and guests at the hospitable Borough Café in Downton.

Their thoughtful and personal ceremony was conducted by Geraldine Bown, a family friend and Inter-Faith Minister. As well as a hand-fasting Georgia and Toby also included a Sunflower-Exchange in their vows.

After such a washout of a wedding prep shoot, we were of the mind that no weather could be as bad as when we met up previously. And indeed it wasn’t. However, after arriving at the barn under blue skies the rain soon rolled in shortly after the ceremony and set in for the day. Oh well… at least everyone was able to arrive under a beautiful Spring sky.… Read Full Post

Andy & El’s Wedding and Afternoon Tea at Highfield Church, Southampton

Andy & El’s took place in Southampton last week and we joined them for one of our ‘Short & Sweet’ days.

Their ceremony took place at Highfield Church and the aisles were packed with family and friends joining in to celebrate their day. The church also played host to an Afternoon Tea reception held straight after the ceremony with plenty of cake to go around.

A little drive away Andy & El’s Reception was to be held in Beaulieu and we followed them there for a short while for a few photos before they sat down for their meal.

Becky and Sam’s Wedding at Lady St Mary Church and Wareham Rugby Club

Becky and Sam worked very hard to plan and co-ordinate their wedding. Very much a ‘Do-It-Yourself’ affair they arranged for a marquee to be set up at Swanage & Wareham RFC. They decorated the tent themselves (with Sam’s sister penning all of the signage and doing a superb job of it too). Bournemouth-based Recruitment agency, Platinum was used to hire waiting staff for the day and Sam’s uncle of NCP Catering Solutions dished up the food.

The day started with guests gathering at the Rugby Club for a pre-ceremony drink whilst Becky and her Bridesmaids got ready at Becky’s Dad’s home. After a short drive to Wareham the ceremony took place at Lady St. Mary.

Becky and Sam had arranged for us to spend some time in The Priory‘s gardens next to the Church for some photos whilst guests made their way back to the Rugby Club for the afternoon reception.

Once there, the day and evening was very relaxed. People had fun playing croquet on the field and things got competitive on the Table Tennis table.

After dinner guests enjoyed dancing and shaking tambourines to the tunes of local musician, Jim Etherington.

John & Katherine’s Wedding at Sopley Mill

The countryside seems to have burst into life the past couple of weeks. Everything’s looking so lush and we’ve been treated to some beautiful days. Where better to kick off wedding season proper then than in the middle of it all? And as a bonus we spent the day with a lovely bunch of people for our first visit to Sopley Mill.

John & Katherine spent their entire wedding day there with a civil ceremony, drinks reception and evening entertainment making use of all three floors.

The day started with the Bride and Groom getting ready separately just a short drive away from Christchurch.

Hampshire Registrars conducted the ceremony and gave the wedding party time to have an Oasis sing-a-long.

Outside the weather was lovely and warm all day, meaning folks could really enjoy the fantastic setting for drinks, games and an evening buffet.

And when it was time for portraits we made our way to the nearby fields to capture the magic of Golden Hour. The light really set off Katherine’s beautiful Jenny Packham dress and jewellery.

Chris & Sophie’s Wedding at The Domus, Beaulieu

We now announce Wedding Season 2016 is officially OPEN.

We were lucky enough to start this year’s adventures with Chris & Sophie’s intimate Sunday wedding at The Domus in Beaulieu.

The whole day took place within the grounds of the Abbey, with guests meeting up with Chris at the Montagu Arms for pre-ceremony drinks. Meanwhile, Sophie got ready at her Parents’ home, with her Dad driving her to Beaulieu in his Austin Healey.

The day started off very sunny, great for guests to enjoy drinks in the grounds of Abbey. And when the sun went in and the clouds came over The Domus had a roaring fire to keep things nice and cosy.

We loved seeing Chris and Sophie making use of their wedding prep photos, with their own handmade seating plan and signing frame. Sophie’s Mum had even got a special foil balloon made with a shot from their prep shoot to decorate the house in the morning!

Guests enjoyed music from The Daggers in the evening. They always put on a great show and even initially reluctant dancers found it hard to resist stepping onto the dancefloor for a bit of a Twist.

Claire & Simon’s Wedding at Wimborne Minster and Deans Court

Claire and Simon went for a French take on their wedding with plenty of rustic details, a Tour de France table plan, a pretty little bike and delicious crepes for their evening food.

There really was no need to go over to Provence for their day.. the weather in Wimborne was blinding and with the musical accompaniment of the excellent Jonny Hepdir you could easily convince yourself you were in Southern France.

Most of the day took place at Deans Court, apart from a church ceremony at Wimborne Minster.

As well as a seamlessly flowing reception service at Deans Court from Jonathan and his team, Claire and her bridal party got ready at the Apple and Plum cottages on site. Meanwhile, Simon and his groomsmen had some morning refreshments at the Squash Court, conveniently a short stroll away from the Minster.
