Stephanie & Patrick’s Wedding at The Three Tuns Inn, Dorset

Stephanie and Patrick made use of our Short & Sweet package for their wedding at The Three Tuns Inn in Bransgore.

As they live in Japan we only met in person for the first time two days before their wedding but through the magic of Skype we knew who we were looking for when we went to the pub for our last minute wedding planning.

Stephanie’s family had flown in from Canada and along with Patrick’s family all stayed nearby in Burley at The White Buck.

Things were kept really relaxed (after all, this was a Bride who had basically backpacked her way to her own wedding). There were no ‘Bride must not be seen before the wedding’ rules. In fact, Patrick often kept popping into the Bridal Suite to see how things were coming along. However, he wasn’t allowed to see the dress until Stephanie made her way downstairs.

After congregating in the bar and sorting buttonholes together the entire wedding party piled into taxis and made their way to Bransgore.

The plan was to have an outdoor ceremony but as rain threatened and spitted the ceremony took place in the barn. Celebrant David Hewitt took the helm and the intimate gathering included a hand-fasting.… Read Full Post

Ross and Sarah’s Wedding Prep Shoot in Lymington

If we can rely on anyone to battle through a shoot in blowy conditions it’s Ross and Sarah. We met up with them in Lymington on a rather unexpectedly windy day to talk through their wedding plans. They’re very much used to being out in the open air in all sorts of weather and spend a lot of their work and personal life on the sea.

They’re getting married next month with a church ceremony in Lymington town centre followed by a reception at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, of which they’re members.

After looking around the Yacht Club we went for a little walk around the salt marshes for some photos…

Amy & Neale’s Wedding at Burley Manor

Amy and Neale got married at Burley Manor in the New Forest with their ceremony and reception held in the barn and adjoining marquee.

The day was super colourful and the abundance of flowers provided by Jennifer Pointer Flowers acted as a lucky charm in pushing the rain clouds away (we only had one, albeit quite heavy, downpour despite heavy clouds looming for most of the day).

As well as having free access to ice creams provided by the Brock Ice trike, guests were served Afternoon Tea with a scrummy selection of cakes, sandwiches and scones. The beautiful flowers and decorations in the barn gave everything a lovely bright and Summer-y picnic feel.

To work off all those cakes and ice-creams Blue Juice Band provided a superb dancing soundtrack for the evening and entertained everyone with a great selection of tunes.

John & Katherine’s Wedding at Sopley Mill

The countryside seems to have burst into life the past couple of weeks. Everything’s looking so lush and we’ve been treated to some beautiful days. Where better to kick off wedding season proper then than in the middle of it all? And as a bonus we spent the day with a lovely bunch of people for our first visit to Sopley Mill.

John & Katherine spent their entire wedding day there with a civil ceremony, drinks reception and evening entertainment making use of all three floors.

The day started with the Bride and Groom getting ready separately just a short drive away from Christchurch.

Hampshire Registrars conducted the ceremony and gave the wedding party time to have an Oasis sing-a-long.

Outside the weather was lovely and warm all day, meaning folks could really enjoy the fantastic setting for drinks, games and an evening buffet.

And when it was time for portraits we made our way to the nearby fields to capture the magic of Golden Hour. The light really set off Katherine’s beautiful Jenny Packham dress and jewellery.

Amy & Neale’s Wedding Prep in The New Forest

We’ve been keeping an eye on the Burley Manor Hotel for a while now. It’s had rather a lovely re-fit and we’re lucky enough to be heading there soon to join Neale and Amy for their wedding. They showed us around the hotel and Esdaile Barn where their ceremony will take place.

Burley is one of my favourite places and I’ve always loved heading over there. The setting is beautiful and from the front of the hotel you can always spot plenty of deer. I also believe you can get the best ice cream in the world in Burley (New Forest Ice Cream whippies with lemon sherbet – yes please!). Needless to say I’m always happy heading over there.

After looking around the hotel together we made our way to the Burley Cricket Ground and woodlands around there for some photos.

Chris & Sophie’s Wedding at The Domus, Beaulieu

We now announce Wedding Season 2016 is officially OPEN.

We were lucky enough to start this year’s adventures with Chris & Sophie’s intimate Sunday wedding at The Domus in Beaulieu.

The whole day took place within the grounds of the Abbey, with guests meeting up with Chris at the Montagu Arms for pre-ceremony drinks. Meanwhile, Sophie got ready at her Parents’ home, with her Dad driving her to Beaulieu in his Austin Healey.

The day started off very sunny, great for guests to enjoy drinks in the grounds of Abbey. And when the sun went in and the clouds came over The Domus had a roaring fire to keep things nice and cosy.

We loved seeing Chris and Sophie making use of their wedding prep photos, with their own handmade seating plan and signing frame. Sophie’s Mum had even got a special foil balloon made with a shot from their prep shoot to decorate the house in the morning!

Guests enjoyed music from The Daggers in the evening. They always put on a great show and even initially reluctant dancers found it hard to resist stepping onto the dancefloor for a bit of a Twist.

John & Katherine’s Wedding Prep Shoot at Sopley Mill

So far Sopley Mill has escaped us. So it was with pleasure we met up with Katherine and John to finally take a ganders inside. It really is a very characterful place and we’re looking forward to joining them for their day.

I probably don’t have to tell you how crazy the weather has been lately. Just before we set off to meet Katherine and John we were subjected to violent thunder, lightning and hail.

But we’re getting pretty good at sensing when it’s worth battling through and when rubbish weather is going to be short-lived. And sure enough it proved to be a lovely evening wandering around the grounds.

Chris and Sophie’s Wedding Prep Shoot at Beaulieu

Wedding Season is almost upon us and we were excited to meet up with Chris and Sophie on the Easter Weekend. They showed us around the Domus in Beaulieu where they’ll be getting married soon.

The grounds were very busy with lots of families Easter Egg hunting, but we were wise enough to get there early to scope out some nice little spots for photos.

The weather wasn’t great – gloomy and windy. But if the Domus and Beaulieu Abbey looks that impressive one of the drabbest days we’ve seen in a long time then we’re in for a real treat come their wedding day.

Louise & Ben’s Wedding at All Hallows Church, Whitchurch and Horsebridge Station

Louise and Ben’s Wedding took place on a baking August day in Hampshire. The ceremony was held at All Hallows Church – a short drive away from Louise’s parents’ house in Whitchurch with a bus driving the guests over to the reception venue at Horsebridge Station. Ben and his groomsmen and family got ready in Winchester.

As well as being a great match for the vintage railway reception venue, Louise’s choice of a lovely swing, fit-and-flare wedding dress was probably the best option for such hot weather.

The afternoon was spent by guests sipping Pimms, seeking shade and playing table tennis in the middle of the railway platforms. We went through an entire can of Eau Thermal Water Spray in an effort to stay upright and the venue’s cat napped on the hot concrete platform, making friends with all the guests. As the sun went down and the day got a little cooler, the cake was cut and there was plenty of dancing (and even routines being made up!) inside the marquee for the evening disco.

Louise and Ben’s Wedding Prep Shoot at Horsebridge Station

Horsebridge Station is a very unique little place to have a wedding. It’s a restored Victorian Railway Station tucked away in the Hampshire countryside packed full of interesting trinkets, signs, the old platform station and a train carriage – perfect for a Vintage styled wedding.

Louise and Ben were down for a quick visit from their home in Scotland for some wedding prepping and we met up with them at the Station to get shown around. There are lots of lovely little nooks and crannies which we hope to make use of on the day. Here are some photos from our recce…

Dani and Chris’ Wedding at The Master Builders

Dani and Chris’ wedding took place at one of the most picturesque locations we know – Buckler’s Hard in the Beaulieu Estate. It’s so ridiculously “picture postcard” and a fine example of English heritage it’s the sort of place where a huge pack of Morris Dancers randomly turn up for a “Morris-Off” on the morning of your wedding.

The entire day’s celebrations were held at The Master Builders where the guests had a sunny spring view of the Beaulieu river.

The day was friendly, intimate and relaxed with the Restaurant playing host to both the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Meanwhile, afternoon drinks took place on the terrace to a soundtrack by the Bossard String Quartet.

The day was deceptively windy, so we all got a bit windswept for Dani and Chris’ evening couple shoot in and around Buckler’s Hard. Luckily, there was plenty of gin on offer (made by the Mother of the Bride) to keep everyone cosy as the evening set in.

Here are some photos from the day…

Natasha and Hayden’s Wedding Prep Shoot in the New Forest

We met up with Natasha and Hayden at the weekend. They’re getting married at the lovely Cripps Barn soon near Bibury so we’ll be making our way back up to the Cotswolds to join them.

They live in London so we decided to meet closer to our respective neck of the woods in the New Forest, close to Burley.

There was a little hiccup in that their car didn’t like the journey and refused to start again (it must have been the work of the naughty witches of Burley). So, whilst they waited to be rescued by the AA man we went for a wander around the woods. I’m pleased to report they got out of the shoot and Burley alive and well…
