After what seemed like a lengthy winter (mostly spent carrying a hot water bottle) the first signs of Spring were very welcome and the daffodils cropping up reminded us that Sarah and Adam’s wedding (our first of 2015) was not far away.
Embracing the vibrant colours of Spring, with a bright yellow and blue colour palette, Sarah and Adam made the most of their March wedding at Priston Mill near Bath. It was warm enough to play outside, and despite the early weather forecast warning of Gales and heavy rain, the day was lovely.
Things started near Bath City Centre where both Sarah and Adam got ready about a half hour drive from the venue for their day.
The day had a travel theme as plenty of guests had travelled a fair way to help them celebrate. As well as a great table plan, Adam’s brother designed some fantastic paper details including table names, Save the Dates and invitations.
We’ve been to Priston Mill a couple of times now and have always regretted not being able to make it over the the adjoining field that sits next to the Tythe Barn. Unfortunately, there’s not really any way of making it over there without crossing a Brook. It’s deceptively deep and definitely not jump-able.
Sarah and Adam were just as keen to get over there as we were and loved the idea of kitting themselves up with Wedding Wellies and going for a paddle over. All went well and the Bride and Groom managed to get there and back unscathed, unmarked and unfazed. I, however, didn’t fare so well. My wellies burst open right in the middle of crossing the water leaving me with squelchy socks. Luckily as we stayed over the night before I had a back up pair and didn’t have to finish the rest of the day bare foot!
The wedding didn’t quite manage to squeeze its way into British Summer Time so the sun set pretty early and it was dark by the time the speeches had ended. Sarah and Adam had been very organised months before and stocked up on an impressive amount of sparklers on Bonfire Night which everyone had great fun with.
Here are some photos from their day…
We really are so happy with them. We can’t explain how glad we are we found you guys! You’ve been so amazing throughout. We’ve loved looking back over all parts of the day that you’ve captured. It really does mean a lot to have such lovely photos of all our family and friends looking so happy.
