Chateau Talaud in Loriol du Comtat, France played host to Katie and Andrew’s main wedding celebration. Katie and Andrew both love Provence and stumbled on the venue last Summer whilst searching the Luberon region for venues. They told us how they fell in love with its friendly charm and beautiful setting. They were lucky to be able to book their wedding there as it only holds four weddings every year.
The private house, near historic Avignon is surrounded by lush vineyards and vast landscapes. The ceremony itself took place in the grounds of the Chateau and was conducted by Katie’s Grandad who did a perfect job in his role of Celebrant.
Katie and Andrew’s wedding team drove pretty much everything you see on this blog over from the UK in two vans, full to bursting. This included all of the lights, candles, lanterns, candle holders, glass baubles, parasols, the bar and all the alcohol etc apart from Chateau Talaud’s wine. With the Mistral still blowing strong the marquee stood its ground, probably thanks to the open-sided design. This also meant throughout the afternoon the guests had a great view of the house and gardens.
Music for the day and start of the evening was provided by the excellent Montpellier-based band, SwingJammerz who brought along their own amazing dancers to get the party going and added a French Gypsy Jazz soundtrack. We also spotted them giving the odd dance lesson or two.
Here are some photos from their day…
