The final instalment of Katie and Andrew’s 4-day wedding is here.
Following on from their UK Wedding, Wedding Rehearsal Dinner, and ceremony in France at Chateau Talaud, the weekend ended with a final farewell to all their guests and a Rock The Frock shoot in the iconic lavender fields of Abbaye de Senanque and Gordes.
The day after their wedding we headed back to Chateau Talaud where guests had gathered again for a relaxed day playing games, taking a dip in the pool and eating good food.
In the afternoon, Katie and Andrew were due to head off for their honeymoon starting in Gordes. This gave everyone the chance to give them a good, old-fashioned send off complete with tin cans and a wave from the Chateau’s balcony. Not something you see very often much anymore, which is a shame as it’s a lovely tradition.
We followed them from the Chateau to join them in the first hour or so of their honeymoon. We were chauffered about by Katie’s Dad who did an excellent job of navigating the roads. Before heading over to Gordes where Katie and Andrew were staying we stopped off at Abbaye de Senanque. They’d sought special permission for us to shoot among the lavender. It really is a very popular tourist destination and people travel for miles to visit and photograph the beautiful scenery. We’re sure everyone there was delighted about the photo shoot taking place slap bang in the middle of it all.
After this we travelled the winding roads up to Gordes where the honeymoon hotel was based and wandered for a little while down the little alley ways, much to the tourists and restaurant-goers delight. One restaurant even gave them a round of applause.
We ended the weekend’s shoot with a glass of wine to toast the happy couple on the balcony of La Bastide de Gordes and got a taster of the spectacular landscape Katie and Andrew would be waking up to on the first day of their honeymoon.
