It was Helen and Thomas’ wedding day last weekend and we couldn’t have hoped for a better day to be on a clifftop overlooking the sea. It was glorious.
The ceremony was in the morning so it was an early start for all as there were full bridal preparations to get done first in Bournemouth, before we all made our way over. Helen and Thomas were kind enough to drop round a survival pack a couple of days before so we knew we could keep our energies topped up with chocolates, coffee and jelly sweets – thanks guys!
The groomsmen also had their fun getting ready at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks. Although this mostly seemed to involve tormenting Lobsters.
It’s a little bit of a trek from Bournemouth to St Nicholas Church in Studland but we made it in good time. The boys wriggled their way onto the Sandbanks Ferry whilst the bridal party went the “long way round” in a very pretty Morris Minor and Jaguar MK2. They caused a little bit of a stir as they drove through the towns and villages along the way.
St Nicholas Church is a small and intimate church that has a good atmosphere when it’s filled with family and friends. There were some nice moments throughout the ceremony, including a choir-led sing-a-long to “All You Need Is Love”.
Here are the photos up until the end of the ceremony. You can see more in Part Two.
