We really enjoyed working with our Bride and Grooms (and in some cases, parents! to create some really distinctive albums last year.
We always try and encourage everyone to have an album that’s unique to them. There are so many materials and options available, no two albums are the same – just as no two weddings days are the same. As the albums come in and have been sent to their owners, we do try to snaps of these and post them up on our Facebook page. But it’s not very often we get a chance to put together a feature on our blog and talk a bit more about the construction, and the reason behind some decisions.
We were so pleased everyone was keen to try something new and trusted us when we suggested something a little bit more unusual. If we could, we would have a duplicate sample copy of each album for our own personal collection!
We’re still working on a fair few albums at the moment from wedding days last year, so we should be getting another batch of beauties in pretty soon. When they’re in and have settled in with their owners I’ll do a Part Two.… Read Full Post
We delivered Pippa and Andy‘s Wedding Album over to them yesterday in exchange for a mince pie. This big and weighty 12″x12″ Finao ONE turned out beautiful with a lovely mix of an earthy brown Bomber Jacket Leather and a sparkling gold foil embossing for their names. This was finished off with a photo cutout on the cover of one of their favourite shots from the day.
Pippa and Andy had their wedding reception in a school, so the choice of a bookish rounded spine seemed like the obvious choice. Magic.

There’s a new cover option being thrown into the mix for anyone purchasing one of our Finao Albums. For an extra cost of £50 we’re now able to design and emboss a custom cover die on albums with a plain leather finish without any photo cutouts. Rather than stick to a line of basic text, this gives us the opportunity to get a little more creative and incorporate some graphics or simply a more fanciful font to make your album stand out and be a little more personal to you.
Lydia and Andy received their wedding album this week and it was our first attempt at making up a custom cover die. With a little help from Swash and Fold and the encouragement of Lydia and Andy we went to town creating a cover die to fit their film-themed wedding. As their day had a bit of a vintage twist (and Lydia rocked bright red poster lips) we went a little Art Deco, contrasting against L & A’s choice of a luscious red leather with elaborate gold foiling.… Read Full Post
At the end of last year we made the decision to start offering our images on USB rather than disc (for lots of different reasons we won’t bore you with).
We were excited to design our own, very pretty USBs made of natural wood. And to complement we tracked down a lovely Keepsake Book.
But something made us sad… If we were going to be getting rid of our DVDs, we’d have to get rid of our DVD Presentation Books. This seemed a shame as we’d had such great feedback on them. Luckily, our supplier came up trumps having recently launched a dedicated presentation book for USBs. We got our samples through last week and were blown away by the clever design – it’s even better than its predecessor!
As standard, each USB Presentation Book will include a 6 page book showcasing some favourites from your wedding day or portrait shoot. The case securely holds our USB stick within a windowed compartment that’s magnetised to hold shut. This is held in an outer book case which can be embossed to personalise in gold or silver foil. The book cases are available in three different pearlised finishes – Chocolate Brown, Cream Pearl and Black Pearl.… Read Full Post
We worked alongside Adam and Gemma to create this 12″ Finao ONE as a keepsake for their wedding day.
Adam and Gemma’s wedding was very craft-heavy with plenty of delicate, paisley-esque patterns. On the day, they weren’t afraid to get adventurous with plenty of mixed patterns and colours. The obvious choice for a cover was to go for a silk brocade. They opted for a powdery blue “Nehru” brocade (although when it catches the light it does vary in tone and can look quite silvery). This had a 5″ cutout to feature Gemma’s very pretty wedding bouquet.
Both for practical reasons, and to act as a contrast, the spine was made in a beautiful, bouncy “Dulche De Leche” leather, making it a very sturdy album.

We’re VERY excited to show off our new Finao photo albums, available to all of our wedding and portrait clients past, present and future. We’ve spent a long time searching for a feature album that not only looked the business but had the quality and flexibility to match. When our sample Finao arrived at our door from America last week we knew straight away this was “The One”.
The Finao ONE is a Flush Mount album with really thick, sturdy pages. The images are printed directly on to the page so there are no photos to slip out over time. We offer the same proofing service as we do with our coffee table books so you get a chance to check and have your say on the design before we commit to print. Best of all, there are so many varied and stylish cover swatches for you to choose from. The 12″x12″ album pictured has a textured leather cover but there are loads ofother stunning options to choose from including silk brocades, fancy fabrics and vegan materials, with colours to suit all tastes.
For weddings from November 2010 those opting for a full day coverage will be able to upgrade their included coffee table book to a Finao ONE at a discounted price.… Read Full Post
