Katie and Andrew’s Welcome Dinner – Provence, France

Following on from their English Wedding in Part One, Katie and Andrew made the road trip down to through France for Wedding no.2 in Provence. We followed them by plane and landed just in time to join them for their welcome drinks and dinner. This was perfect timing as it gave us a chance to get familiar with the surroundings.

First off, we travelled to meet everyone at the tail end of their wine tasting at Domaine de Marotte, near where we were staying in Carpentras before making our way to their home for the weekend – Chateau Talaud.

Katie and Andrew had warned us about the Mistral – a strong, cold wind that blows from the South of France. But we didn’t think much of it – we’ve shot November weddings in gale force winds. How bad could it be? Answer – Very. It was so strong, it knocked around ten degrees off the temperature and caused havoc with the table settings.

So, as beautiful as the set-up was outside, an emergency team rescue was put in place to move everything indoors in record time. The result was a cosy welcome dinner ahead of the wedding the next day.… Read Full Post

Katie and Andrew’s Wedding at Chateau Talaud – Provence, France

Following on from Katie and Andrew’s Dorset Wedding and Welcome Dinner….

Chateau Talaud in Loriol du Comtat, France played host to Katie and Andrew’s main wedding celebration. Katie and Andrew both love Provence and stumbled on the venue last Summer whilst searching the Luberon region for venues. They told us how they fell in love with its friendly charm and beautiful setting. They were lucky to be able to book their wedding there as it only holds four weddings every year.

The private house, near historic Avignon is surrounded by lush vineyards and vast landscapes. The ceremony itself took place in the grounds of the Chateau and was conducted by Katie’s Grandad who did a perfect job in his role of Celebrant.

Katie and Andrew’s wedding team drove pretty much everything you see on this blog over from the UK in two vans, full to bursting. This included all of the lights, candles, lanterns, candle holders, glass baubles, parasols, the bar and all the alcohol etc apart from Chateau Talaud’s wine. With the Mistral still blowing strong the marquee stood its ground, probably thanks to the open-sided design. This also meant throughout the afternoon the guests had a great view of the house and gardens.… Read Full Post

Claire & Simon’s Wedding at Wimborne Minster and Deans Court

Claire and Simon went for a French take on their wedding with plenty of rustic details, a Tour de France table plan, a pretty little bike and delicious crepes for their evening food.

There really was no need to go over to Provence for their day.. the weather in Wimborne was blinding and with the musical accompaniment of the excellent Jonny Hepdir you could easily convince yourself you were in Southern France.

Most of the day took place at Deans Court, apart from a church ceremony at Wimborne Minster.

As well as a seamlessly flowing reception service at Deans Court from Jonathan and his team, Claire and her bridal party got ready at the Apple and Plum cottages on site. Meanwhile, Simon and his groomsmen had some morning refreshments at the Squash Court, conveniently a short stroll away from the Minster.

Katie and Andrew’s Wedding: Day One – Kingston Lacy

Katie and Andrew recently had a 4-day wedding celebration spanning two countries, numerous venues and settings and a blue sky to compliment each and every day.

Before heading out to the South of France for their wedding in Provence, a church ceremony took place nearer home in the pretty church of St Stephen’s on the Kingston Lacy estate. This was a small and intimate wedding which was held on a Monday morning in the presence of close family.

After the service, Katie’s Mum worked some magic getting us permission to take some time away from the wedding party for some shots in the grounds of Kingston Lacy. Meanwhile, Andrew’s parents played host to a marvellous garden party reception before the bride and groom headed off to the Continent that very evening.

Here are some photos from their UK wedding. Jump on to Part Two to see their Rehearsal Dinner in France.
